Well it’s been a busy time of late for the BWRDC IntoSpeed Initiative …. with more planned for May!
Looking ahead, the BWRDC is working with JW-RS who are hosting a dedicated, all female group Simulator experience and training day on Sunday 18th May at a location near Bicester (off the M40). Focussing on hillclimbing and sprinting, women of all ages can come and meet representatives of the BWRDC for practice and driving instruction. The group sessions are always friendly and great fun in an informal environment. Although primarily aimed at ladies interested in the IntoSpeed initiative, all BWRDC members are welcome to book a place although there is limited availability.
The cost is £60 per person for a session shared between 5 people between 1030 - 1700hrs, which allows plenty of simulator time per driver.

We recently held a Social/Familiarisation day at Prescott hillclimb offering a chance to meet BWRDC members who were competing, to soak up the atmosphere and watch the racing. Some ladies attending were new to the sport so on a fact finding mission before getting behind the wheel themselves, others had taken part in the BWRDC/IntoSpeed Driving schools and are hoping to compete at an event this year. It was a great opportunity to get advice, exchange notes and meet like minded people. An enjoyable day was had by all. Thanks to the Bugatti Owners Club who organise Prescott hillclimb for their support.

Also, TCS Motorsport hosted a BWRDC IntoSpeed Ladies Day at Curborough Sprint Course near Lichfield providing one-to-one in-car coaching from the instructors. It was a very hot day to don a helmet during the early May heatwave but all our ladies said they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The instructors reported that the ladies all made huge progress on their lines (and speed!) on each of their runs. Some have already entered the IntoSpeed rounds planned for this year (link for details https://www.bwrdc.co.uk/into-speed), others hope to in the future … so we look forward to seeing you on track! Thanks to TCS motorsport for working with us.
Thanks also to Motorsport UK for their support.
