RACE REPORTS

Zoe has teamed up with another BWRDC member, Amy Barker, and formed the all-girl race team a2zmotorsport. Both girls are giving each other lots of
support and as you will know there aren't many all-girl race teams in motorsport so they are hoping this will attract some sponsorship. Result
Clothing have already shown interest in the girls and given some fab coats and bodywarmers from their La Femme range with our A2Z logo embroidered on
them. The rest of the team have also benefited with the same type of items, which helps us stand out from the crowd. Both cars have similar vinyl
graphics on them supplied by Cheltenham Vinyl Graphics, which makes them very distinctive.

2008 is going to be a busy and challenging year for Zoe as she starts running in 2 Junior Rotax championships at Shenington and Dunkeswell. Also,
her first taste of car racing, as she started in the Saxmax Championship on turning 14.

Having passed her ARDS at Thruxton on 28 March, whilst still only 13, Zoe waited patiently for her 14th birthday on 7 May before she started racing
her Citroen Saxo. Her first and second outings were at Pembrey in South Wales, a double-header and a baptism of fire for both Zoe and her support
team.

A leaking gearbox on the test day on Friday meant having to change the gearbox, not an insignificant task, especially when we were all so new to
this type of exercise. Saturday and Sunday saw Zoe compete in 2 qualifying sessions and 2 races, however the 2 days were completely different
weatherwise; Saturday was dry, sunny and hot, in contrast Sunday was very wet and windy. The conditions were unsettling to say the least for a new
racer.

Unfortunately, Zoe had a DNF in the race on Saturday as a plug lead worked loose and she lost power less than 2 laps from the end, so that was a
disappointing end to the day. Sunday's racing was difficult due to the conditions, but Zoe completed the race and although she was the last running
car on the track, she was not last overall.

Zoe was at Anglesey on the 7 and 8 June for another double-header. Beautiful weather all weekend, superb track and spectacular scenery, all combined to
make a much more positive weekend. Although being the Saxmax driver with the least experience, on Saturday morning Zoe put in a qualifying time which saw
her start the race 15th out of 16 on the grid, with a more experienced driver behind her. After dropping back to 16th at the start, by the end of
the first lap she had gained several places due to three of the drivers having a coming together at Rocket. Zoe kept the two drivers in front of her
in her sights until the end of the race. It was a very positive drive, gaining her 13th position. After qualifying 15th on Saturday Zoe was a bit
disappointed when her time was only good enough for 16th position. However, after not the best start, she managed to pass several drivers following an
incident involving 5 or 6 cars at the first corner. She managed to stay ahead of them for a while, but was eventually caught and passed by the more
experienced drivers. Zoe ultimately finished in 14th place as two of the other drivers were unable to finish the race. Again, it was a very positive
and encouraging drive from Zoe, with her fellow drivers still within reach at the end of the race.

Next time out in Saxmax for Zoe is at Donington in July.
