This decision finally came to enter motor sport was yet again in denial of another milestone, birthday. Needed a real personal challenge as certainly was far from ready to move gracefully into those senior years! Did have reservations as motor sport was my husband’s interest and I did not want to tread on his toes! Jon was Ferrari Hill Climb Champion in 2002 and currently (2007) holds seventeen hill records in Ferrari class.

Set the 60th birthday challenge to circuit race in the ‘Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic’. So with that thought in mind and for the next twelve months, entered sprints, hill climbs and track days to became familiar with the 328. Nearest circuit race to my birthday date was Donington Park on 4th June 2006. Perfect!

At this opening race, was first woman on the grid in the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic event for over twelve years; as a result, FOC kindly presented me with bottle of wine!

To date have raced at only three circuits in as many races; Donington, Oulton Park and Snetterton. Last two events 3rd and 4th respectively in class.

Wish I had been involved in motor sport many years ago; enjoy the whole scene and love every minute!
